Suvarnabhumi ... 
 It seems that Indian texts (written between III     th century BC and third century AD-C) denote the Southeast Asia as "The Land of Gold." Similarly, in the Golden Chersonese  , the astronomer Ptolemy would have referred to this region. To this day it is a controversy, some believe that these texts refer instead to Indonesia and Sumatra. The fact is that Thailand has chosen to name the new Bangkok airport Suvarnabhumi .
